Hand Cards

190 TPI - great for cotton and other fine fibers.
Carding surface is approximately 4" x 4".

I use mine for carding cotton punis to spin on my charkha.
An elasticized velcro strap & drawstring bag make for convenient storage & portability.

Tensioned 5-bobbin lazy kate in red oak to match my wheel.

This wheel was my Christmas present in 2002. I didn't realize I don't have any very good pictures of it at the moment.

It can be set up as double drive or single drive (either bobbin or flyer lead). It weights under 18 lbs and folds to approx. 6" thick for storage or transport. As you can see in the right-hand pic where it's in the backseat of the car, the top removes so that it can be packaged separately and not get banged around.

Standard Red Oak Wool Combs

2-pitch (double row) red oak wool combs with walnut inlay.

4 ½" x 4 ½" of 1/8" thick stainless steel tines set at a standard spacing of 3/8" centers. Combs are through mortised for a strong joint and are 6" long

Medium Red Oak Wool Combs

2-pitch (double row) red oak wool combs with walnut inlay.

3 ¾" x 4 ¼" of 1/8" thick stainless steel tines set at a slightly smaller than standard spacing of 5/16" centers. Combs are through mortised for a strong joint and are 5 ½" long.

Each comb weighs approximately 10.7 oz

Small Red Oak Combs
with Heavy Duty Tines

2-pitch (double row) red oak wool combs with walnut inlay. These Small Combs have the Small size handle and the tines are the same as the Medium combs but shorter.

3 1/4" long tines by 3 3/4" wide. 1/8" stainless steel tines are set at a slightly smaller than standard spacing of 5/16" centers. Comb handles are through mortised for a strong joint and are just over 4" long.

Each comb weighs approximately 8.5 oz.

Small Apple Wool Combs

2-pitch (double row) apple wool combs with maple inlay.

3 ¾" x 3 ½" of 3/32" thick steel tines set at a fine spacing of 3/16" centers. Combs are through mortised for a strong joint and are just over 5 ½" long.
